SRS On the Air

Over the years, the society has had many on the air nets and for a long time an 80 metre Sunday morning net was ably looked after by Bill Hayes G4RLD.

G0ROW3.jpgMore recently, the society now sports a Thursday evening net which is chaired by Alan G0ROW. For 2010, Alan is now using the club callsign G6UQ.

All are welcome whether you are a member or not, so, please listen at 8pm local time on 145.500MHz, the 2 metre FM calling channel. Once a contact is established, the net will then move to a close by channel.


DOUBLE SAPPHIRE AWARD

As part of our 90th anniversary celebrations and to promote communication between members by radio, a new society operating achievement award is to be launched.

During the calendar month of June 2010, any current member of Stockport Radio Society who can show they have accumulated the required number of points, may apply for the “Double Sapphire” award which is in the form of a skilfully crafted certificate and available in two classes.
